Maria Szemplinska
I photograph everything, but my favourite subjects are people and this can be seen in most of my projects, in areas like Portraits, Events, Sports Photography, Journalism, Documentary, and Fine Art.
Occasionally a competitive soul wakes up in me and lets me participate in Photo Contests, from time to time winning some. I took part in two CONTACT Photography Festivals in Toronto. During one of them, my photograph won a People’s Choice Award. I have had four solo exhibits.
However, I am most known for my Soaring Photography, which I developed by spending years of crewing for my husband, a soaring pilot, and being witness to people participating in this exciting sport and lifestyle. My soaring photography is published in most soaring publications, books, calendars, websites, and is privately enjoyed by many friends sharing this beautiful sport.
